Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Greetings
San Humberto Casa Hogar in Empalme, Sonora México has 23 youngsters who arethe Friends of Rancho de Ninos priority of love and attention. Two trips were organizedin October and November to improve the orphanage in Sonora Mexico. Most of the workwas painting, electrical wiring, light fixtures, roofing supplies, installing two washers,repairing cracks in the wall, plumbing on all bathrooms,and a total of five doors wereput in place. Plumbing was needed on toilets and auto repairs were done. There were twobasketball nets for the boys and girls. Three little pigs were also purchased for the orphanage.Recognition goes to our members Pete Maes, Alex Salazar and son Tony, Mike Montoya,Jose Rivera, Freddie Martinez, Martin Sisneros and wife Sandra, Arturo Sais, Art Pacheco,and Bill Beachard for their dedication, time, work and labor of love for our Casa HogarOrphanage in Sonora Mexico. More work on the orphanage will be planned for 2014Education Supplies and Scholarships are being scheduled by our new Education DirectorDiane Maes. School supplies and back packs were delivered to Barcelona, Emerson, andSan Jose. A total of $1,511.00 was spent on education supplies. Diane's team will havescholarships ready in the Spring of 2014. Schools being given scholarship applicationswill go to Rio Grande HS, West Mesa HS, Valley HS, Atrisco HS, Manzano HS, andHighlands HS. We look forward to scholarships being approved by the board in 2014.FORN Christmas Party is December 14th 2013 at the Becker Street Pub in Belen NM.Owner Claudine Montano and Arturo Sais purchased the pub back in 1993. A pancakebreakfast fundraiser was in November and tickets were donated by the Sisneros Brothersfor a raffle to a Dallas Cowboy and Green Bay Football game. The Christmas party willhave a pot luck provided by members of FORN along with a “White Elephant” giftexchange. Hollywood has landed five movie productions at the Becker Street Pub.Our Christmas will share our friendship, love and memories of the good work done this year.Special Recognition goes to CPA Fred Anaya who does the Tax Returns for the FORN andhe does that as a donation. As you know there are no paid salaries in Friends of Rancho deNinos. Our March 2014 Newsletter will up date all those who are donating and helping us.Valentines Dance and Fundraiser will be on Saturday February 15th, 2014 at the EmbassySuites. Music by played by the band “ Remedy”. Tickets are $50.00 per person . Dinner willbe Chicken, Beef, or Vegetarian. This is our biggest fundraiser, and we are looking for lots of people to join us for this event. See all the photos and video of the orphanage and youngsters.
